The FAQ

Do you travel?

You bet I do! Between Summerland and Keremeos is included in my regular session fees, anything outside of that is subject to a modest travel fee of $0.50/km. Sessions that require overnight travel are specifically quoted for each event. Let me know and I'll happily get you a ballpark cost.

How long have you been doing this?

A while, haha. I achieved my diploma for Digital Photography in 2011, and have been working as a professional photographer ever since. Over the years, I've connected and worked alongside several prominent photographers in our area. I am constantly upgrading my knowledge and working to make sure I have the skills to handle any situation.

How many photos do we get?

With my engagement and casual portrait sessions 10 images are included. Additional images can be added on to your package after you've had a chance to see them in your online gallery. Surprise Proposal sessions include the full edited gallery (roughly 20-30 images).

Weddings don't have a guaranteed number of images, it fluctuates depending on coverage and what events are taking place. The rolling average for a 4-5 hour wedding is between 300-500 images.

How do we get our photos?

I use an online gallery system where you can review your images, choose favourites, order your included images (and any extras), download your finished photos, and share the whole thing with family and friends.

Do you retouch photos?

Yes! I do global touchups to all images (lighting, colours, etc). Portrait and engagement images chosen as your final order do receive a few extra little touch ups to fly away hairs and blemishes. I do not alter body shapes or sizes.

Wedding photos receive full touch ups right away, so the first gallery you see will be your finished images.

Whats your turn around time?

For portraits and engagements the turnaround time is 48 hours for your previewing gallery, and then 5-7 business days for the final edited photos. For weddings that time is 4-5 weeks for the finished gallery.

How do we book you?

To reserve a portrait or engagement session date, a deposit and a signed contract is required. Final payment is due on your session date; payment plans are available.

For weddings your contract and deposit (1/3 of your package price) is due to reserve your date. Final payment is due 30 days before the wedding.

Can you help us with planning?

Absolutely! I have been doing this for over a decade and I can definitely help you out.

For portrait or engagement sessions, I work with you to find the perfect location and time of day. We can plan an activity or keep it simple, but I will help walk you through that process.

For weddings, I will often help with finalizing your timeline, finding the locations for family photos, wedding party photos, first looks, etc. If you're looking for vendor recommendations I have a nice big list of amazing people in the Okanagan.

How far out do you book?

I am usually booking 2-3 weeks in advance for portraits and engagements.

I'm currently booking 2024 wedding dates.

What should we do for an engagement session?

So glad you asked! Engagement sessions are all about who you two are as a couple. We can include aspects of your relationship that you love - do you enjoy hiking together, cooking, lounging about in bed all day, extreme spots, or do you just want to hang out in a picturesque spot?

We'll make it fun and painless. Unless it's the extreme sport option - no promises there.

What should we wear?

An excellent question. First and foremost, you should feel good in the clothing you choose. If something makes you feel uncomfortable in your own skin, it's going to show in your photos, so choose outfits that make you feel beautiful. We're also not afraid of patterns here, although I would advise against really small patterns, like pinstripe and a tight paisley. They tend to photograph a bit wonky.

Try to stick to colour tones that are the same. So, if everyone is wearing darker colours, don't have someone wearing a bright or light colour. If they do they'll end up standing out, and not in a good way.

Pinterest is your friend! Have a quick search for outfit inspiration and the season and you will find SO many ideas for mixing and matching colours and patterns.
