Keremeos Wedding | Renae & Tom

Sept 24 2022

My last wedding of the season was a little bit of magic. The perfect fall day, a campsite that was transformed into a stunning wedding experience, and a super fun couple! Tom and Renae chose a camping wedding at Rustic Campground just outside of Keremeos. These guys and their friends and family went above and beyond in the setting up and decorating this space. The wedding party wanted to enter along the dyke beside the river, but it was a bit of a slippery slope down to the actual ceremony, so what do you do? Why build an absolutely majestic set of stairs out of found rocks nearby and create a work of art! Seriously.

Every detail of the day held special meaning. The flowers were dried bouquets that came from grandma's yard, the food was all prepared by family, and the couple's bridal suite for the night was a brand new canvas tent - a gift from the parents. Since Tom and Renae are nomads at heart, they included a flag to showcase every country of origin for all their guests - some guests travelling internationally to share in the celebration. So many other personal touches were here and there, it was impossible to keep track of them all, but it was easy to see that this whole weekend was crafted on love. (I know, it's cheesy, but this is my last wedding of 2022 so I'm extra sentimental!).

A beautiful ceremony was followed by lawn games, snacks, and mingling. It was a relaxed and happy atmosphere, without any need to hurry things along, but just to take your time and enjoy. Dinner, as I said, was put together by family and friends, and they did an amazing job! Renae and Tom actually invited me to stick around a bit and stay for dinner after my coverage time had ended, and I felt so incredibly blessed to share in that with them and their people.

Congratulations Renae and Tom - I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and amazing adventures!
