As the days wind down and fall rolls in, those last few weddings of the season become extra special. I adore weddings. I love the excitement, the anticipation, the laughter, the happy tears, the heartfelt or silly speeches - all of it! Chelsey and Pierre's wedding delivered all that, and more - starting with a surprise wedding the night before! In order for a family member to preform the ceremony, Chelsey and Pierre hatched a plan for a surprise ceremony at the rehearsal dinner the evening beforehand. (I promise I've got a blog post coming for that as well, but everyone has been patiently waiting for the main event photos, so I pushed them ahead first.)
The wedding day itself was the perfect fall day and excitement hung in the air. Pierre was extremely cool, while Chelsey paced around her bridal suite and peeked out the window every few minutes, ready to get the day rolling! The ceremony included a very special homage to Chelsey's daughter, who passed several years ago, but was an extremely important part of the day. Lily's were laid at the front of the ceremony and gathered with the bridal bouquet in her honour. It was a beautiful tribute, and one I haven't had the honour of experiencing before, and it's really stuck with me over the past few weeks.
The remainder of the day flew by - lawn games, toasts, mini-picnic visits on the grass. Pierre's son blew everyone out of the water with an absolutely stellar speech. I still can't public speak at all and he's got it DOWN at such a young age. Everybody watch out for this guy, haha.
The sky blessed us with an incredible display during sunset which was the perfect way to get right into the swing of the party. Dancing under the stars has got to be one of my favourite first dance location.
All-in-all, a beautiful way to wind down my wedding season and a celebration I won't soon forget. Congratulations Chelsey and Pierre!
