Lake Country Garden Wedding | Twila & Reece

lifestyle, moody portraits, on-location, Wedding

June 9th 2023

When I first met Twila and Reece at a bridal expo in Kelowna I could tell that this was going to be an epic match. They're perfectly balanced in their relationship and have this easiness about them, so I knew their wedding day was going to have that same energy.

Our engagement session was blessed by the gods of fall foliage, and their wedding day was blessed with showers. I know everyone cringes when they hear it rained on a wedding, but this was the perfect kind of "bad weather". The rain kept to a soft mist, and only made the smallest appearance during the actual ceremony. The misty clouds created the most beautiful moody backdrop with the mountains and Kalamalka Lake, and kept us all shaded and cool.

Before Twila and Reece arrived I got to experience and capture something new. The two sides of the family, many having never met, spent their time introducing each other; trading handshakes and hugs, and combining themselves into one big family. There were no real sides during the ceremony because of this and it was such a wholesome moment love and acceptance.

When the bride and groom arrived it was hand in hand, to start their marriage as equals. There were tears and laughter all throughout the ceremony, one leading into the other and back again. Afterwards we snuck away for a few photos and a moment to take it all in. Then it was back to the gazebo for more laughter and connection before dinner. Altogether it was everything we could have asked for, and more, and I'm so excited to share the first peek of the day here.

All the best to you both!
